Jojoba Oil is used to regulate the sebaceous glands found in our scalp and skin. These glands secrete a waxy substance primarily for skin protection however, when an over production of this substance is produced we experience greasy hair and scalp conditioner. When there is an under production of sebum we can experience a dry and flaky scalp which is also known as dandruff. Jojoba oil has been cited as being the closest match to our natural sebum!

Coconut Oil can help prevent a dry, flaky scalp and dandruff, as well as split ends and hair breakage. It also has anti-bacterial properties but containing caprylic acid.

Grapefruit Extract applied topically helps to reduce scalp irritation and dandruff. Grapefruit Extract is also known for balancing the scalp’s microbiome. Grapefruit seed extract containing flavonoids possesses antibacterial, antiviral, and antifungal properties. These beneficial actions of GSE have been attributed to the antioxidative activity of grapefruit containing citrous flavonoids such as naringenin.
